Regulations for 2016 International Students

 General Principles:

 

1.      International students must abide by Chinese laws, decrees, and relevant regulations. It is not allowed for any international student to intervene in domestic affairs ofChina. Any behavior which endangers the national sovereignty or security, and harms the public interests ofChina, is forbidden.

2.      International students must

1)      maintain and promote the friendship between Chinese people and people from all other countries

2)      respect the customs and religions of people fromChinaand all other countries

3)      respect the teachers and staff members of the university

4)      maintain harmonious relationship with other students

5)      Respect the legitimate rights and interests of others

3.      International students must conscientiously maintain public order, the teaching and living order on the campus, observe study discipline and make great effort to complete their study tasks.

4.      International students must observe relevant regulations in the public place, behave with decorum and courtesy, pay attention to hygiene and take good care of the public property.

5.      Without permission, international students are not allowed

1)      to distribute, post or display any poster, gathering notices or publicity material on the campus, in or around the living area of international students

2)      to organize gathering or party

3)      to broadcast on the campus

6.      International students must act in accord with their status. Without permission, the students are not allowed to take part-time job on / off campus.

7.      International students must conscientiously observe the university rules and discipline. Inappropriate behaviors like damaging the public property, gambling, drug addicting, excessive drinking, fighting, and premarital pregnancy are prohibited.

 

 

               Regulation on International Students

 

Article 1 Semester Registration and Leave Application

1.      Every academic year comprises two semesters, spring semester and fall semester. The full time international students are required to come to the schools in group for registration with student ID card in the week after the new semester begins. The specific registration time will be informed before the winter vacation or summer vacation. Application for reasonable and persuasive delay of registration has to be offered beforehand; otherwise any delay will be handled as absence. Without permission, 2 weeks delay of registration is regarded as voluntary dropping from WTU.

2.      International students are required to observe study disciplines and to observe the formality for the leave of illness or business affairs as necessary.

1)      Less than two days leave of business should be approved by the supervisor or the department and report to the office of college and International Dept.. A leave of three days or longer must be approved by the Office of College and International Dept.. with a written ask-for-leave application. This written ask-for-leave application should include the information like the reasonable reason, the leaving and coming back time and the signature of supervisor. A diagnosis certificate is required if the leave is for reason of illness.

2)      Any leave without approval will be considered as absence.

3.      International students are entitled to the Chinese holidays and winter and summer vacations according to the University calendar. While classes will be continued on the festivals and holidays of their native countries.

4.      During the holiday and vacations, if the students plan to leave the campus for 3 days or longer, Office of College and International Dept. should be informed of the schedule.

 

Article2 Suspending and Resumption of Student Status

1.      International students can suspend their student status in any of the following cases:

1)      Treatment and recovery period for diseases covers 1/3 academic period of a semester.

2)      Approved by the university for some special reasons

2.      The suspending duration is commonly one academic year, and the accumulative total of one student should not be over 2 academic years. After the written request submitted by the international student is approved by the university, the student is supposed to leave the university within 15 days. During the suspending period, scholarship for the student enjoying scholarship will be suspended accordingly.

3.      When the students who have suspended their student status for diseases apply for resuming, they must take the physical examination in the designated hospital as required by the university. The students can resume their status if the examination results prove that they are physically qualified. Otherwise the students must return to native countries for further treatment immediately and the expenses for the physical examination and trip should be covered by themselves. Those who have suspended because of business affairs can resume in due time by going through the resuming formalities at Office of Postgraduate Dept. or Academic Dept. .

 

Article 3 Withdrawing

International students being in any of the following cases will be expelled from the university

        one who fails in more than half courses for one semester.

        one diagnosed in the designated hospital as suffering from mental disease, epilepsy, leprosy, AIDS, or serious chronic diseases and considered as being not suitable for continuing study in the university

        one becoming disabled in accidents and being incapable of continuing to study

        one who doesn’t apply to resume student status when the suspending duration is over, or being unable to resume student status after suspending duration has been has been accumulated over two years.

        one who cannot carry on study or research work for personal reason

 

Article 4 Curriculum and Credit

1.      International students have to cover academic curriculum as same as the Chinese students, complete compulsory and optional courses in the light of the TRAINING PLAN, and meet the course and credit requirements.

2.      Postgraduate and Doctoral students have to cover all the courses with the guidance of their supervisors.

 

Article 5 Degrees

1.      International students of degree programs can apply to be conferred Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate degree according to Regulations on Degree of the People’s Republic of China.

2.      International students can apply for their degrees only if they fulfill all the followings:

1)      meeting all requirements of the TRANING PLAN

2)      having successfully completed all courses required

3)      being evaluated and approved to graduate

4)      meeting the curriculum and thesis requirements for bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate degree.

3.      The degree conferring will be conducted in accordance with Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Academic Degrees and relevant rules by the Academic Degree Evaluation Committee of the university.

 

Article 6 Graduation and Departure

1.      The students who have passed all the examination and received full credit will be conferred graduation diploma. Those who can be conferred graduation diplomas can also be conferred degree certificates if they have passed the thesis defense and are qualified according to Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Academic Degrees. Those who fail to meet the above requirements can only obtain attendance certificate.

2.      International students must leaveChinawithin 15 days after the graduation or finishing their study. The students must finish all departure formalities before receiving the graduation certificate or degree certificate. If a student is unable to leave the university on time for persuasive reasons, he or she has to obtain approval of International Dept. of the university, as well as the approval of Security Dept. in charge. Otherwise, certain measures will be taken by the university and the Security Dept. jointly for compulsive return to the native country.

 

 

Article 7 Rules on Classroom and Activity Room

   1. No any religious activities in classroom or activity room.

   2. Foreign students should keep the activity room and classroom clean, and clean the white board before the class. Don’t splotch, post or hang anything on the wall, white board or desk&chair.And you are not allowed to eat, litter or spit in the classroom or activity room.

   3. Please mutually modestly decline and look out for each other.Besides, don’ talk loudly in the room.

   4. Set up thrift consciousness, and the last one who leaves the room please turn off the lights, windows and door.

   5. Please carefully use the public equipments and don’t move or damage the requirements of the room. If there is any artificial damage in the facilities, you will be required to compensate it according to the original price.

 

Article 8 Apartment Rules

1.      The international students are required to abide by laws and regulations of People’s Republic ofChinaand rules of Wuhan Textile University.

2.      The international students, during the study in WTU, may live in Student Apartments on campus. The apartments will be arranged by the university. Exchange without permission, appropriation, lending or renting is prohibited.

3.      Please take good care of the public property. Facilities in the apartment building should be used fairly, such as furniture, water & electricity utility, air conditioner. Unauthorized dismantlement, refitting, damaging, or appropriation is prohibited. The violator has to compensate.

4.      Please do not refit or append any lock to doors and windows of the apartment building. Inform the Apartment Management Center on time in case of any failure of facilities.

5.      Maintain safety of the dormitory. Depositing inflammable, explosive, corrosive, poisonous or radioactive articles in the apartment building is prohibited. Setting off firecrackers or burning sundries is not allowed. Pay attention to the electricity supply safety. Change to the electricity wires is prohibited. Please cut off the water and electricity supply before leaving the apartment. Please guard against the fire. Anyone who causes a fire disaster has to compensate for all the losses, and those leading to serious damage will be handed over to the judicial department to investigate and affix the criminal responsibility.

6.      Please take good care of personal property. Lock the door and windows when leaving the apartment to avoid losing personal property. Please report to the Security Guard Department of our university in case of losing any, and report to College for help on taking prompt measures.

7.      Please maintain the order of the dormitory. Do not make uproar in the dormitory or the hallway or disturb others’ study and rest. Fighting, excessive drinking, gambling, religious activities, and illegal activities are forbidden.

8.      Cultivate good hygiene habits. Please do not spit, litter, or spill sewage in public place. Put the rubbish at designated places. Raising pets is not allowed. Keep the wall clean, and don’t stain it or put nail in it.

9.      Economize on water and electricity. When your balance of electricity is small, please recharge at the Apartment Electricity Center on time. Both water and electricity are charged according to the city standard. The consumption of water is charged at the end of a semester.

10.  Gate of the dormitory will be closed at half past ten at night. Visitors have to leave before nine o’clock. Anyone is prohibited from accommodating any visitor in the apartment.

11.  Please take away personal belongings and clean it up on time after using facilities in the public kitchens to avoid affecting others.

12.  Please avoid any action that would lead to obstruction in the drainage.

13.  Water from the water-supply system is not suitable for direct drinking.

14.  Please check the condition of all the equipments when you check in. Report to the Apartment Management Center in case of any deficiency or damage, otherwise it will be considered as your responsibility.

15.  Please take away all your belongings and hand back the key promptly after finishing formalities of moving out.

 

Article 9 Rules on Management of the Public Kitchen

1.        The public kitchen in international student dormitory is for all international students living on that floor.

2.        Please take good care of all facilities in the kitchen, such as the basic components, microwave ovens, induction cookers, etc. and use them fairly. Unauthorized dismantlement, refitting, damaging, or appropriation is prohibited. The violator has to compensate and be amerced.

3.        In case of any breakdown of facility in the kitchen, please inform the Dormitory Management Center promptly. Artificial damaging should be compensated, and the violator amerced.

4.        Please maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen. After using facilities of the kitchen, please put away all personal belongings and clean it up to avoid affecting others.

5.        Please avoid any action would lead to obstruction in the drainage.

6        Economize on water and electricity.

 

Article 10 Library Regulations

Entry

1.        Enter the library with your own Campus Card.

2.        Keep quiet in the library. Turn your cell phone off or keep it mute before entering the library.

3.        Proper dress required.

4.        Take good care of the books and facilities. Books could not be brought out without borrowing formalities. Do not move the facilities without permission.

5.        Please keep the library clean. Smoking, littering, spitting and eating in the library are prohibited.

6.        Pay attention to public order.

7.        Observe the rules and regulations of the library.

 

Reading in Library

1.        A reader could enter the reading room only with his/her own Campus Card.

2.        Follow the librarians conscientiously, and observe the Fire Protection Security Regulations of the library.

3.        The books and book bags of the readers should not be brought into the reading rooms.

4.        A reader would not take more than three books each time. The books should be returned to the specified places.

5.        Periodicals, newspapers, and reference books of the reading rooms are not for loan. If a reader needs to take one to make a copy, his/her Campus Card could be kept by the librarian as security

6.        Please take good care of the publications and facilities. Do not move the facilities without permission.

7.        Keep quiet in the reading room. Talking on phone and smoking are prohibited. Please keep the reading rooms clean, and do not take foods into these rooms.

 

Article 11 Fee

1.  The international students need to pay the entire fee which is not covered in the scholarship in time.

2.  If international student don’t pay the related fee in time, his/her scholarship will be cancelled and his diploma won’t be awarded in time.

 

 

The WTU international students who break down the regulations above will be cancelled all the evaluation and grant of all sorts of scholarships.
